God is the most important thing one can learn about. Nature and the Bible are the primary teachers.
I recommend reading Psalm 19 in the Bible. This ancient song reveals that God made Himself known in nature (His creation) and in His word (the Bible). Nature reveals God’s greatness, wisdom, intelligence, power, love of beauty, and how we were designed to live. The Bible reveals the big story of history: God’s good creation, man’s fall into sin, God’s redemptive plan, and the recreation of all things.
History and the Bible’s focal point is Jesus of Nazareth. A Jewish carpenter who taught about God’s coming kingdom, atoned for the world’s sin on a Roman cross, and ministered as a great philosopher, revealing answers to life’s most important questions.
Jesus said: “If you abide in my word, you are truly my disciples, and you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.” (John 8, English Standard Version)
Church is essential for learning about God and growing as a Jesus follower.
